Subject: [Tweeters] A harrier takes a song sparrow

I was walking along the west side of Lake Tye in Monroe and towards the
south west side of Lake Tye were a male and female harrier, both were flying
low over blackberry tangles. The male dipped down, made a sharp turn and
looked as if it was going to crash into the blackberries, there was a bit of
wing flapping and confusion then the bird went sailing by with a song
sparrow in its talons. I did not know these birds ate other birds, although
since there is still 4-6 inches of snow covering most the fields to the west
perhaps this is situational due to the weather.
