Hi Tweeters,

With the possible sighting of an Arctic Loon near Pateros, I advise
all observers to beware of other loons with white on the sides. I
have a photo of a Common Loon I found on Buchanan Lake in Yakima that
from the side looks very much like an Arctic Loon. It even has the
"dignostic" white patch toward the rear of the side. The Common Loon
photo can be seen in the new photos folder on my website.
