Subject: [Tweeters] Point no Point Thick-billed Murre Update

Hi Tweets,

Five of us enjoyed some nice looks at the Thick-billed Murre in the late
afternoon. It was fairly close-in and some nearby Common Murres made for
some great comparisons. I was even momentarily fooled by one
alternate-plumaged Common Murre (appeared black) that "replaced" the
Thick-billed Murre when it dove. Fun with alcids!

Just a note on tides. The Thick-billed Murre, and other alcids for that
matter, may be more difficult to find in the afternoons this weekend at
Point no Point. We lose the afternoon daylight hours of the ebb tide that
can be so productive. I am guessing the morning hours will be best. But, I
could be wrong.

Cheers and good birding,
