Birds reported: Greater White-fronted Geese; Pine Grosbeaks; Thick-billed
Murre; King Eider; Slaty-backed Gull; possible Arctic Loon.

January 14, 2007, 2:16 p.m.; Keith [no last name] 425 226 7987,
reports that on Saturday, January 13, 2007, he saw some [GREATER]
WHITE-FRONTED GEESE on Lake Washington where May Creek enters into the lake;
he wonders if someone can tell him if that's a rare sighting or if they're
around in the winter in this area; on Saturday, January 13, 2007, he saw in
some madrona trees eating the berries some PINE GROSBEAKS, is curious if
anyone knows if those are generally around here in the winter.

January 14, 2007, 5:07 p.m.; Mary Gustavson, 956 432 4528, reports
the THICK-BILLED MURRE in winter plumage was off of Point No Point between 3
and 3:30 p.m., diving in the distance, and that it put on good show. Good
birding.

January 15, 2007, 10:12 a.m.; Brian Bell, 425 485 8058, reports from
Semiahmoo that he is looking at the KING EIDER; much of the marine area was
unfrozen that morning and the bird was out towards the end where it had been
hanging out most of the time, near the intersection of two of the floating
docks. Good birding.

January 15, 2007, 5:18 p.m.; Matt Dufort, 206 276 7530, reports he
watched from about 4:30-5:15 pm watched the SLATY-BACKED GULL from about
4:30-5:15 p.m. at Gene Culon Park in Renton; it was with a flock of
approximately 3,000 predominately Glaucous-winged Gulls.

January 16, 2007, 5:09 p.m.; Patricia Lott, calling for herself and
Gina Sheridan, believes they have seen an ARCTIC LOON just south of Pateros
on the Douglas County side of the Columbia River about 1/4 mile south . . .
. [ msg cut off]

January 19, 2007, 11:35 a.m.; Brian Bell, 425 485 8058, reports the
THICK-BILLED MURRE was seen at Point No Point between 8:30 and 10 a.m.; the
water was choppy, you must do a lot of scanning and a lot of looking, but
the bird was definitely there. Good luck and good birding.
