When seeking the Red-shouldered Hawk at the "grassy knoll" in Kent, beware of a "look-alike" young Red-tailed Hawk. Both are pictured for comparison. It's no fun to arrive home after a splendid bird outing only to later have doubts about the ID of a sought after bird.

Also pictured is the infamous Slaty-backed Gull at the Cedar River mouth in Renton as well as the Iceland-type Gull seen at the same location.
