Perhaps some of you have observed the large flock of swans near I-5 and
Hwy 530, the Island Crossing/Arlington area. Presently there about 800
swans (mostly trumpeter and a few tundra) on the east side of the freeway
just off Hwy 530 up 27th Ave. (turn at the firestation). The swans are
feeding in a barley field that was never harvested due to weather damage
last fall. Two swans have neck deformities: adult with a neck bent 45
degrees about half way down, and a juvenile with a kink about 1/3 of the way
down the neck. Also there are two white fronted geese with this group. Two
red collars: F69 and M51 are there as well.
If anyone is out photographing swans and can get pictures of any of these
swans please let me know.
