Hello Birders,

We have just updated our website with many new photos, specifically from a few highlights from our weekend trip to the Conconully area of Okanogan Co. We enjoyed the trip very much mainly for seeing the Sharp-tailed Grouse at the Scotch Creek Wildlife Area. This location offers good viewing of Sharp-tailed Grouse at a safe distance from one of three pull-offs near Fish and Wildlife Department buildings along Conconully Rd. We plan to visit this location perhaps next winter since this is such a reliable location to view Sharp-tailed Grouse during the winter months only. We took many photos of the Sharp-tailed Grouse, but due to a fair distance and poor lighting we were less than fortunate to get the best shots. Despite these factors we were pleased at the overall outcome with any photos we got! The photos we have posted on our website are quite poor, but are mainly just for evidence of the Sharp-tailed Grouse and perhaps next year will be better!

We were also happy to see the large flock of Gray-crowned Rosy Finches near the same location as the Sharp-tailed Grouse,as well as a nice flock of Common Redpolls feeding on the road. In addition we have posted several more photos of our trip away from the Sharp-tailed Grouse including some highlights from our visit to Cameron Lake Rd.,etc. All in all it was another great winter trip to northcentral Washington!

Our latest photos can be accessed at the following link: http://www.pbase.com/godwit/recent_photos/
