Hello everybody. Today (1/22/07, 3:45 PM) I was driving on S Machias Rd. when I observed an osprey flying about 200 feet overhead, heading northbound along the Pilchuck river. I did a quadruple take, and managed to safely pull over, not far from OK Mill Road. I knew they are not supposed to be here this time of year, and I tried my best to morph it into something else. But the bent wing, color pattern, and flight characteristics were unmistakably osprey. I sized it to be a male. I'm not up to date on Washington records, and I have no idea if this is of any consequence. But I thought it should be mentioned here. Thanks.
