Just wanted to add to the recent string regarding harrier feeding on various prey items...

>From the observation blind at Ridgefield NWR on 20 Jan I spotted a northern harrier feeding on a coot amongst the many tundra swans along the ice edge. With the scope I was able to watch feathers fly from the coot as the harrier ripped the bird apart. I didn't witness it but I suspect the harrier did the killing as well.
