Dear Stan and Tweeters,

Skagit Game Island, or Fir Island Game Range, is also
called Wylie Slough, or Fir Island Wildlife Recreation
Area.

In Skagit County, Washington, take the Conway exit
from Interstate Five (south of Mount Vernon and north
of Stanwood).

Go westwards, crossing the Skagit River south fork via
a bridge. After a minute or so, take the second left
onto Mann Road.

After crossing a little slough, a 4-way junction is
reached; go straight into the game range parking area
from there. After crossing another little slough just
inside the game range, go right to park in the
headquarters parking lot, or left to park in the boat
launch parking lot.

Take your "yellow sticker" (or whatever the WA game
department is handing out this year) with you to avoid
$66.00 fine.

It is also possible to take an immediate left onto the
east end of Mann Road, and reach the above-mentioned
4-way junction via the twists and turns of Mann Road,
which can be very birdy, but has only a few good
pulloffs.
