Here are a couple of recent bird-related articles for those interested.

In the Jan. 22, 2007 issue of The New Yorker: "Digging for Dodos", about a
paleontologist's excavations on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius, trying
to shed light on the life history of the Dodo, a 50 pound, 3 foot high,
flightless, extinct, distant relative of the Nicobar pigeon.

In the February, 2007 issue of Smithsonian magazine: "The Vanishing", about
the dramatic decline of large vultures in India and Pakistan, once numbering
in the tens of millions, now facing extinction, and the search for the
reason why.
