In downtown Bellingham this morning, just as I pulled into a parking place,
a large, adult Red-tailed Hawk (probably a female) dropped to the pavement
just across the street from me, about 30 ' away. Utilizing my truck as a blind,
I watched and saw the object of the Red-tail's interest---a dead starling!
After a quick assessment of the potential, the Red-tail grabbed the starling
in its talons and took off for an early breakfast.

I opted for a Greek omelet.
