Subject: [Tweeters] Whooper Swan at Conway today

Lynn Miller, Brian Carson and I were at the church at 9:30 on Wednesday but
there were no swans nearby. We checked several small flocks in the fields to
the north along Skagit City Rd, and then worked through a very large mixed
flock of Trumpeters, Tundras and Snow Geese north of Moore Rd.

Needing to move on to our next destination, Point No Point, we returned to
the church around 11:00 and there was the Whooper with half a dozen
Trumpeters just outside the church parking lot fence, giving us great looks
and photos.

Another person there said this small flock had just flown in from the other
side of Fir Island Rd. We had noticed a small group of swans in a field in
the distance near Mann Rd to the south of Fir Island Rd when we first
arrived, but we decided to go north first. So that area (Mann Rd to the
south of Fir Island Rd, opposite the church) might also be worth checking if
the Whooper isn't found near or north of the church.
