Hello All,
After all day meetings in Olympia on the 22 nd we headed for Kitsap Counties
Point no Point on the 23rd to look for the murre. We were there from 10 AM
through 2:40 PM. We lucked out and saw the following species from the point.

1.Thick-billed Murre-We saw a total of five murres while the tide was
rushing out. Thick-billed flew in with an adult Common Murre and passed
within three hundred feet of shore flying to the southeast along the tidal
rip.

2.Cassins Auklets-two sightings about two hours apart. This surprised us as
we have never seen this species in the Sound in winter. The first was
located by MerryLynn off to the southeast of the lighthouse and the second
was out to the northwest of the parking area. May have been the same bird
,but who knows.

3.Eared Grebe-one bird off the beach to the northwest of the lighthouse.

4. Marbled Murrelets-32 birds in a single sweep from the east on to the
northwest of the lighthouse.

5. Pigeon Guillemot-7 birds, one in 90% alternate plumage-seemed early.
6. Rhino Auklets-8 birds, again 3 were already in near alternate plumage.
7. Eurasian Wigeon-two bright males
8.Black Scoter-one male
9.Red-throated Loon-two birds
10. Annas Hummingbird-1 female at feeder in the little village of Point no
Point.
11.Bonapartes Gull-550+ off the lighthouse.
12. Mew Gull-65 birds off the lighthouse.

We had a great time with medium winds no rain and broken sun shine. Met
several outstanding birders and saw several Harbor Porpoise and 5-7 Harbor
Seals.
