Subject: [Tweeters] Whooper Yes -- Eye color question

I drove up to Fir Island today, and saw the Whooper Swan in a field with
many Trumpeter Swans on the South side of Fir Island Road about 2/10 mile
past the Lutheran Church. It was feeding happily as of 11:20am. One thing I
noticed that I haven't seen mentioned here is that its eye color appeared to
have a slightly red cast compared to the complete blackness of the nearby
Trumpeter Swans. Has anyone else noticed this, and if so, is this something
specific to this particular Whooper or something that all Whooper Swans have
in common?
