Hi Tweeters -
Since this might be helpful for more than the Boston birder who
asked, here are directions I cobbled together from Yahoo Maps & some
memory....

Starting from Kent:

From northbound on SR167 - continue north when hwy ends and road
turns into Rainier Ave S, passing under I-405.

[or from I-405 exit north at exit #2 [I think] to get headed north
onto Rainier Ave S]

Continue [north] on RAINIER AVE S - go 1.0 mi

Turn Right on AIRPORT WAY S - go 0.4 mi,then follow main route of
road to left onto Logan.

Continue on LOGAN AVE - go 0.5 mi

Stay in left lane.

Turn Left on N 6TH ST - go 0.2 mi [going straight would take you into
Boeing property]

N 6TH ST becomes N RIVERSIDE DR Follow road first straight, then right [north].

Drive to end of road and park.

Airport is on your left, Boeing hangers on your right.

Walk out to Kayak shop & deck.

See gulls

To look at this on a map, go to Yahoo Maps
Enter your start destination [I just used Kent, WA for the above]
and the following destination:
N Riverside Dr
Renton, WA

It is possible to zig & zag to Gene Coulon Park [where the same gulls
have sometimes been seen]. Like Connie, I usually wing it to get
there, but I think the proper directions would be:
Go straight out of mouth of Cedar River park, across Logan and onto 6th.
Turn Left onto Park [I think 6th ends at a Frye's Electronics store
at this intersection]
Just before coming up to I-405, turn north onto Howser -- I think the
roads here are such that you 'turn' by going straight where most of
the traffic bears right towards 405.
Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park will appear on your left. The gulls
usually hang out towards the northernmost end of the park.

If someone can do better with these last directions, it would
probably be appreciated.

Good birding,
