Birds reported: King Eider, Yellow-billed Loon, Snowy Owl, Slaty-backed
Gull, Whooper Swan.

January 26, 2007, 10:36 pm; Rachel Lawson, System Administrator, phones the
Birdbox with a few updates: Today the KING EIDER was seen at Semiahmoo
Marina near Blaine; a YELLOW-BILLED LOON was also seen there, and a SNOWY
OWL was on top of a building on the Blaine side of the harbor entrance. The
SLATY-BACK GULL was seen this afternoon at Gene Coulon Park, which is across
the way from Cedar River mouth. The WHOOPER SWAN was seen on Fir Island, on
Fir Island Rd a little east of the bridge over the river. Rachel cautions
us that if we stop to see the swan, we should be sure to pull our vehicles
well off of the main roadway so as not to enrage the locals. Good birding!
