Greetings, all,

Seattle Audubon Society's Bird Watch (teen group) found, among many
other birds, about 20 Common Redpolls in the Skagit Headquarters area
early this afternoon. (Yes, we were able to show them to a few other
birders.) Also unusual was a Barn Owl observed for about a half hour
hunting in daylight in late morning near the entrance to the Nature
Conservancy's Port Susan Bay preserve (at the end of Boe Road). It was
still at it when we left. We did see one distant Short-eared Owl from
there as well.

Cheers,

Alan Grenon
