Hello Tweeters,
The Whooper Swan was back in the field that it was seen in a couple of weeks ago. We saw it today around noon NE of the Conway Exit on I-5. It was in the field along Cedardale Rd, this is the frontage road along the east side of I-5 north of Highway 534. It was with other swans in a field just south of the barn that is painted with the word Alpaca. There were a few Tundras in with the Trumpeters.
We were on our way back south from BC. Highlights that were seen there were 3 Snowy Owls on the golf course along Boundary Bay at the end of 72st. There were also 2 Short-eared Owls and a Peregrine Falcon. One of the water hazards on the golf course had a flock of about 400 American Wigeons with about 15-20 Eurasian Wigeons mixed in. At Reifel Bird Sanctuary, we saw an immature Northern Goshawk, 3 Sandhill Cranes and 3 Black-crowned Night Herons.
