Late yesterday afternoon we came upon what some have confirmed is a Dark
Morph Juvenile Snow Goose on Fir Island. (If you want images contact me
off-line.) It was among a flock of several hundred adult and juvenile Snows
in the fields at the last, westbound bend of Mann Road, a quarter mile east
of Mann Road's intersection with Wylie Road and the Skagit Game Range. It
appears to match Sibley's sketch in his guide, page 69. Easy to spot
without a scope since its steely-blue coloring stands out from the adult
Snows and grayish/white juvenile Snows.
