Today I visited the Boeing and Kent Ponds. I had a very close encounter with the Red-shouldered Hawk at the Boeing Ponds. This bird allowed me to get quite close. I found a Northern Shrike close to the western side of the Kent Ponds. I saw the same bird or another along the southern fence about 30 minutes later. Possibly I saw the Red-shouldered Hawk again on the east side of the ponds, where it has been hanging out. For a parting shot I found a Western Scrub Jay just along the paved trail that leads east from the Ponds area.
Among the ducks I saw some of my favorites, Pintails and Canvasbacks. Other raptors were Northern Harrier, Bald Eagle and a bunch of Red-tailed Hawks.

A very good day!
