Anyone looking for a AMERICAN DIPPER for their county or year or whatever
list? A bird has been working the area above, below and under the Gilman
Blvd bridge over Issaquah Creek for the past 3 weeks.

I just had a magnificent adult GOLDEN EAGLE in Newcastle, just west of the
Golf Club at Newcastle. I first wrote the bird off as immature Baldy - but
it landed and gave me great views for great ID and then flew off showing
solid dark underwings (and no white tail or head) further confirming this.
Near the same spot - down in the large meadow along SE 136th that is the
site of the old town of Newcastle there were singing male RED WINGED
BLACKBIRDS, 2 WESTERN MEADOWLARKS, RED BREASTED SAPSUCKER, and a real treat
- male AMERICAN KESTREL on the utility wires dropping down and coming up
with a really big vole of some sort.

If anyone here follows the Puget Sound Orca pods here's a link to an article
in the San Francisco Chronicle talking about K and L pod showing up off of
the Northern California (SF and Monterey) coast in the past couple of weeks
- a never before recorded event - is Puget Sound becoming Putrid Sound?
