Hello All
I suggest a visit to the new "construction ponds" along 212th Street west of
the Green River in Kent for anyone who wants to see some local shorebirds.
Yesterday afternoon I had a Semipalmated, 2 Western, and about 20 Least
Sandpipers. There were also about 12 Greater Yellowlegs, numerous Killdeer
and Spotted Sandpipers. This is the spot that saw a Black-necked Stilt for a
day this spring, and has since had both phalaropes and White-faced Ibis. It
should remain an excellent spot through the fall.
Cheers,
Charlie Wright
