I made the trek up to Knapp Rd. spot as reported by Russell Rogers yesterday. I first tried from Knapp Rd. scanning the field to the west with no luck. I then drove down to the end of the road (not very far) and asked a homeowner who was out front of her house if they had seen any unusual birds around. She said no so I turned around and went back up Knapp Rd. to try again. I scanned from the crest of a hill this time and found the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher working a fenceline just west of the red house that sits next to Highway 101. I attained better views by parking in the grass at the Knapp Rd. stop sign and walking just a bit west along Highway 101. Mile marker 274 is on the opposite side of the road. I snapped a few pictures of the bird while I was there. Life bird for me! Good luck to anyone else that tries for it!
