Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday July 5. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

On June 28 a PRAIRIE WARBLER was heard on Mt. Pisgah near Eugene. It could
not be relocated. On June 27 a LONG-TAILED DUCK was seen on Crane Prairie
Reservoir south of Bend. It continues to be seen. The Baskett Slough NWR
INDIGO BUNTING is still being seen.

The early shorebird movement is now well underway. Post-breeding dispersals
are now bringing birds away from their breeding territories.

A breeding plumaged RED-NECKED GREBE was seen July 1 at Yaquina Bay. On June
28 a group of BLACK-LEGGED ALBATROSS were foraging three miles west of
Yaquina Head. Five WHITE PELICANS are now at Baskett Slough NWR. On July 3 a
singing GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was along Maple Grove Road near Airlie, north of
Corvallis. Up to two BREWER?S SPARROWS are now being seen in the farm field
along Belts Road south of Brownsville.

That?s it for this week.
