I have a juvenile male pileated woodpecker that is returning regularly
to drink out of the little pond I have in my back yard. I've seen them
drink out of the birdbath, but this is the first time I've seen one
venture onto the ground and hop around.

I saw what is probably his sister with their father on top of the
telephone pole in front of our house a few days ago.
