Not sure what was in my lemonade, but I just saw the most brilliantly red
House Finch I've ever observed in WA. House Finches are certainly no
strangers to our very urban Seattle yard. This bird was a red that I have
only seen in Mexico and parts of S. Arizona. I first noticed it on a
telephone wire. Then, as though to emphasize its color, it moved to a feeder
occupied by a couple of other 'normal' House Finches. The comparison was
amazing.
It's great to see a rare common bird.
