I am hoping to record some Red Crossbill songs this summer. I am looking
for breeding crossbills in the region (Oregon or WA) and would greatly
appreciate any information that anyone may have about the whereabouts of
breeding crossbills. If anyone has heard crossbills singing or other
signs of breeding such as adults with dependent juvies I would love to
know the location. Also if anyone has seen developing cone crops (this
years green cones) especially Englemann spruce (a few of the call types
breed in the summer while foraging on Englemann spruce) this information
would be really helpful. Thanks!
Best,
Julie
