Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday July 12. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

RED-EYED VIREOS were reported during the week from Maury Jacobs Park in
Eugene, Brewsters State Park east of Eugene, Minto Park in Salem, and the
Sandy River Delta east of Portland.

On July 4 a probable female BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD was on top of Mt. Hebo
in the Coast Range south of Tillamook. A CANVASBACK was seen July 10 on
Meares Lake near Tillamook.

Recently a CHAT, an EASTERN KINGBIRD, and a WESTERN KINGBIRD were at the
Sandy River Delta and were thought to be nesting. Several pairs of singing
BREWER?S and GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS are now being seen along Belts Road south
of Brownsville. They may be nesting. Another BREWER?S SPARROW was reported
July 8 from Fern Ridge Reservoir. Recently a PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER, a
MARBLE GODWIT, a WHIMBREL, a SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER, two SEMIPALMATED
SANDPIPERS, and a COMMON TERN have been reported from Fern Ridge Reservoir.

A female BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD was seen July 4 on Bear Mountain, west of
the Cascade summit south of Hwy 58. On July 5 a BLACK-THROATED SPARROW was
at Pelton Dam near Warm Springs. Two CATBIRDS and a NORTHERN WATERTHUSH were
seen July 9 where Hwy 58 crosses the Little Deschutes River north of
Chemolt.

That?s it for this week.
