Hello, Terry--
My husband, daughter and I camped in Glacier National Park in August of last year, and we took the Hidden Lake Trail from the Logan Pass visitor center. We found ptarmigans not ten minutes from the start of the trail alongside the boardwalk! They hung out just feet away from us, undisturbed by hikers' presence, and I was able to snap pictures of them that were quite close-up-looking even with my dinky camera, and the results made me feel like I could pretend I was a wildlife photographer.
Farther along that trail we were also treated with the sight of mountain goats just 20 feet away, including kids. Three of them crossed a small bridge nearby while we watched, and were instantly dubbed the Three Billy Goats Gruff.
I don't know where to see Grizzly Bears. We did our very best to avoid Grizzlies at all costs!
Enjoy your trip!
Christina
