One of the pairs of Evening Grosbeaks that has frequented our feeders this summer showed up today with a fledgling, and fed it as it perched in a tree. This is the first time we've had breeding Evening Grosbeaks here at our place along Scatter Creek.

Several pairs of Black-headed Grosbeaks have fledged young, and most of our 25 pairs of swallows have fledged: Tree, Violet-green, Barn, and Cliff (the latter still on nests).
