Hi Tweeters--

Yesterday (July 16th) I spotted a Merlin in Shoreline
at dusk. Just a brief look at a very streaked
individual with very pointy wings flying off the
conifer snag in Don Norman's yard--the two crows
nearby were not too happy with its presence and chased
it off.

This evening Don spotted it again on the snag and got
a better look at it. A juvenile Merlin--the heavy
streaking making it a F. c. suckleyi. The crows were
again keeping a close watch.

If you are interested in swinging by to see it,
Don's house is a short ways down NW 199th St (2112)
off of 20th Ave NW in Shoreline, WA. You can see the
large conifer snag very well from the road.
