Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday July 19. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

A RED KNOT was seen July 15 on the North Spit of Coos Bay. A SEMIPALMATED
SANDPIPER was there the next day. A CATBIRD is now being seen at the Dog
Pond near the South Jetty of the Siuslaw River. Nine RED KNOTS were on the
beach there July 14. On July 16 a MOCKINGBIRD was at Moolack Beach north of
Newport.

On July 14 a BLACK SWIFT was over southeast Portland. At least four BLACK
SWIFTS were over Ridgefield NWR July 17. On July 15 a WHIMBREL was at
Baskett Slough NWR. An AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER, SOLITARY SANDPIPER, and a
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER were seen July 12 at Fern Ridge Reservoir. On July 12
a WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL was seen among a small group of RED CROSSBILLS just
north of Hwy 20 at the summit of Santiam Pass.

On July 14 two BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS were on the north slopes of Gray Butte
in the Crooked River Grasslands south of Madras. A SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER
was at the Redmond Sewage Ponds July 11. The LONG-TAILED DUCK continues to
be seen at Crane Prairie Reservoir. On July 13 four MARBLED GODWITS were at
Gutierrez Ranch in eastern Crook County.
