Hi All,
Here is another aerial duel involving different raptors from my recent Deschutes River trip. (This time the ID's are correct...sigh!) The image is at http://www.tubbsphoto.com/-/tubbsphoto/detail.asp?photoID=4268373&cat=38975. The area where this image was taken was very productive for raptors. In a four-day stay at this site near some high cliffs, I saw and photographed: American Kestrel, Osprey, Red-Tailed Hawk, American Kestrel, Peregrine Falcon and Prarie Falcon. Two Golden Eagles (separately) were seen soaring in other areas within a mile or so of this site as well. Turkey Vultures were seen in significant numbers every day as well. I also had some looks at a bird soaring very high on a thermal that appeared to be a Swainson's Hawk - but the looks were not good enough for a positive ID.
