Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday July 26. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

Heavy shorebird movements were reported during the week including RED-NECKED
PHALAROPES and RUDDY TURNSTONES. The first migrant waterfowl are now
arriving also.

A MOCKINGBIRD was at Woahink Lake, south of Florence July 17. A MOCKINGBIRD
and the CATBIRD were at the Dog Pond at the South Jetty of the Siuslaw River
July 20. On July 19 an EMPEROR GOOSE was along Wireless Road near Astoria.

On July 24 a GOSHAWK was at Ridgefield NWR. The next day a SOLITARY
SANDPIPER was at Coon Point on Sauvie Island. A female AMERICAN WIGEON with
six chicks were seen July 21 at Jackson Bottom in Hillsboro. On July 24 a
black-backed LESSER GOLDFINCH was in McMinnville. Two were at the Fernhill
Wetlands in Forest Grove July 25. A WHIMBREL was seen July 18 at Fern Ridge
Reservoir. On July 20 a WHITE-FACED IBIS and a CASPIAN TERN were at Agate
Lake near White City.

A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was seen July 21 at Malheur NWR along the Central
Patrol Road north of the P Ranch. On July 20 WHITE-FACED IBIS were verified
as nesting at Ladd Marsh SWA near LaGrande.
