Hello Tweeters -
Friends of mine, Karen & Bob told me about a pair of small birds that had taken to building a nest in the middle of one of the hanging baskets on their porch. Apparently, they didn't realize it until one day, Karen went to water the basket and was scolded by the momma. After that, she checked on the nest, and saw little blue eggs.
They tried to describe the birds to me, along with the noises they were making, but to no avail. Since the eggs have now hatched, poppa has been more diligent with his scolding and protecting of the area - even so much as to tell Karen & Bob when he thinks that things that show up on the porch are just too much for him to bear! Last evening, I received the pictures via email and knew right away what they had - a pair of nesting Oregon Juncos's, now with a nest full of babies. Thought I'd share the pictures Bob took and passed on to me!
