Hi Tweets,

This message jogged my memory that I heard a House Wren singing near the
velodrome at Marymoor Park on Friday afternoon, July 27. It seems like
there may be small numbers moving through, though it's surprising to me that
these birds are singing. I don't think they're summer residents, as I
expect they would have been found before now (House Wrens are not that
common in King County). And whether they're post-breeding dispersers or
southbound migrants, I wouldn't really expect them to be singing. Any
thoughts?

About noon today I had a singing HOUSE WREN at Juanita Bay Park. As a week
ago I had one in my backyard (3 miles from the park), I would imagine it's
the same bird. It was seen on the short service road behind the fire
station, across Market Street from the main park entrance.

Also seen were the first returnees of the fall season...a Western Tanager
and a Wilson's Warbler.
