I birded Stillwater Friday morning along with several other birders. It was
a beautiful day to be out. I'll start with the obvious question: yes, the
AMERICAN REDSTART and YELLOW BREASTED CHAT are still in the same approximate
locations. Thanks to Ryan for giving me a somewhat satisfying scope view of
the Chat which was about 100 yards off the pathway. The Redstart was in the
small birch grove just "up" the trail from the bridge. It was varyingly
impossible to see and poking out. It was singing pretty much constantly but
difficult to get a look at. There was also a singing MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER
singing just up the trail from the Redstart location. Here's a list of the
other birds I saw during my visit:

Wood Duck
Red-tailed Hawk
AMERICAN KESTREL
Rufous Hummingbird
Northern Flicker
Red-breasted Sapsucker (several)
Western Wood-peewee (thousands)
Willow Flycatcher
Steller's Jay
Violet-green Swallow
Bank Swallow (lots out on the river - it's a fairly long walk but beautiful
scenery)
Barn Swallow
N. Rough-winged Swallow
Tree Swallow
Black-capped Chickadee
Bushtit
Bewick's Wren
American Robin
Cedar Waxwing (dripping from the trees)
Yellow Warbler
Common Yellowthroat
Lazuli Bunting (out toward the river)
Black-headed Grosbeak
Spotted Towhee
Red-winged Blackbird
Brown-headed Cowbird
American Goldfinch (dripping from trees)
