Migrating turkey vultures are mostly busy nesting by now, but here
are the sightings from May 2007 for Washington, British Columbia, and Oregon:

02 -- 3 adults on Vashon Island roosting in a tree; nest reported in
Clark County; 1 over the Oyehut Game Range
03 -- 50-75 soaring along and over the Columbia River; a few around
Goldendale; 8 soaring near Cle Elum; 12 kettling over I-90 near
Easton; 4 adults circling a road-killed dog near Skookumchuck Road
04 -- 6 circling over Morningside Drive Hill in Tenino; 8 near the
Brady Loop Road complex
05 -- 1 over the Yakima River Delta being attacked by smaller birds
06 -- 4 at Nisqually NWR; 7 at Ridgefield NWR, River S Unit
07 -- common at Rowland Lake and in the Gorge
09 -- ? at Springwood Park, Parksvile, B.C.
10 -- 8 soaring near Ocosta
11 -- 1 near Hoquiam; 3 over Chenois Creek Bridge; 1 over Hwy 109
12 -- 2 at Cherry Valley WFW; 1 at Stillwater WFW; 1 near Grays
Harbor NWR; 1 west of Raymond; 7 at La Push-Neah Bay; 13 in the Port
Angeles area; 6 near the upper Dungeness & Hurricane Ridge areas; 20
at Sequim-Dungeness (total 46 which almost equals a 14-year average
for the Clallam County Birdathon)
13 -- 1 at Rowland Lake; ? at Buttertubs Marsh, Nanaimo, B.C.; 6
adults in two groups near Cle Elum; 1 adult near Belfair standing in
the road (seen coming and going); 1 circling over Glacial Heritage
14 -- 2 circling over open fields near Skookumchuck Road; 1 over Sequim
15 -- 1 near Oakville; 2 along Wenzel Slough; ? along Brady Loop Road
16 -- 1 over the Deschutes River; 1 over the dunes at Ocean Shores
beach; 6 over Sequim
17 -- 5 near Columbia Grove
18 -- 10 at the Quillayute Prairie, Olympic Peninsula near LaPush
19 -- 3 at the River S Unit of Ridgefield NWR; 52 headed west over Sequim
20 -- 1 near Sprague Lake
21 -- 3 circling over a dead possum near Johnson Creek Road
22 -- 3 over the Snoqualmie River in Carnation
23 -- 20+ over Cassimar Bar; 1 at Roy; 3 on a road killed possum in
southern Thurston County
24 -- 5 riding thermals off Mt. Si
25 -- 4 over the North Bend discount mall
26 -- 2 over Battle Ground; 4 at Northrup Canyon; 7 over Stevenson; 2
at Conboy Lake NWR; 1 at Swawilla Basin; 1 at Roy
27 -- 2 eating a dead deer near Orting
28 -- 1 molting subadult circling over Littlerock; 1 at Washtucna; 4
at Sprague Lake
29 -- 1 soaring over Littlerock; ? at south Nanaimo, B.C.; 1 sub
adult over Rochester
30 -- 1 soaring in lovely circles near Waldrick Road, Thurston
County; 1 over Hgw 101 near Nehalem, Oregon; 1 just west of Hoquiam;
1 between Hoquiam and Ocean Shores

Thanks for all the reports. Be on the lookout for nesting results -
dark headed young vultures - in the next couple months. And, as
