The habitat on Bateman Island is so good for orioles that even though we did
not relocate the bird yesterday, one wonders if it could still be there.
Ray Johnson found the bird at 4:30 on the day it was originally found, but
the bird had moved a bit northeast and then into the center of the island.
He reported it as being with other orioles.

Obviously, if anyone relocates the bird, please post or call.

Ray's report is copied below:

I didn't make it out there until about 4:30 PM and didn't really expect to
find it, but did get a good look after about an hour of searching. I went
to the tree where you found it, and then followed a trail west to the end of
the island. Saw a lot of Bullock's orioles and BH grosbeaks, and almost
passed off the Baltimore as just another grosbeak but noticed a female
Bullock's fly to the same snag just east of the locust copse (not far from
the ornamental tree with the large heart-shaped leaves)(catalpa tree), and
so put the glasses on them, and got a great look. They both flew east
towards the large tree in the center of the island but I couldn't get them
to show themselves again.
