I know that cats are a "banned" subject, but while we're on the subject I
wanted to offer up some articles that might help people see the net benefit
of keeping cats safe and indoors. I have 2 versions of articles about
protecting one's cats from outdoor dangers that I wrote and another that a
friend wrote. If anyone wants to read them or knows someone that might read
them I would send them to you. They are written from the perspective of
those that love both cats, birds and other wildlife in a way that cat lovers
should be able to hear and relate. One (longer version) was originally
written for a native plant enthusiast perspective.

in King County it was estimated that more than 40% of the annual diet of
Coyotes in suburban King County was house cat. It was also estimated that
70% of the diet of pups involved house pets, so during pupping season (which
is now) Coyotes specialize in house pets.

Another good reason to keep them indoors at night.
