The heron rookery at the north end of Bainbridge Island is in serious
trouble. The eagles have eaten all the eggs, according to the owner of the
property that the nests are located on, all 153 of them. Two years ago, the
herons were going strong, last year there were problems and this year all
raising of young birds has ceased because of the eagles.
