Hi Tweets,

With the feeders put away it is quiet here with the Evening Grosbeaks gone. I have still been putting out a handful of peanuts for the Jays and noticed a Red-winged Blackbird hopping onto the deck taking a peanut also. I think those birds will eat anything.

I think an adult Red-tail hawk took a young robin this afternoon, the robins set up a ruckus and chased the hawk through the trees. They did not stop screaming for about 10 minutes after, flying from tree to tree as though they were searching for something.

This morning a Purple Finch fledgling begged for food from mom, she fed him and took off for more. A couple of Pine Siskins came through waiting for a turn at the water, the juv finch took to begging from the Siskins, one took exception to the begging and jumped on the baby finch's head getting a few pecks in as well. The finch took off for another branch, rubbing his beak on the tree and putting his ruffled feathers back into place.

A Doug Squirrel brought her brood of 3 babies. They are darling playing chase and wrestling on the roof of the sheep's manger. The Brush rabbit had a nice brood of 3 babies also and they play leap frog in the evenings.

I have a great yard!
