Tweets,
Wed. morning I easily found the Least Flyctr reported by Bill Shelmerdine.
Directions from I-5 exit 88: Northbound (E/NE) on Old Hwy 99 toward Tenino
~8 mi; south (right) beyond Bucoda on Hwy 507 10.8 mi; left on Big Hanaford
Rd toward steamplant 2.1 mi; right on Teitzel Rd 0.7 mi to the green 3 mile
marker on the left. Here there is a small side road to park on. The bird was
singing/calling and easily visible across the road (west) among a row of
trees in an open pasture.
I also (re)located a singing Yellow-breasted Chat near the end of Melville
St, 0.65 mi north from its intersection with Old Hwy 99 ~5 mi E/NE from I-5
exit 88. Melville skirts the west edge of Rock Prairie. A Lazuli Bunting was
singing in the Christmas trees north of the little airstrip. Buntings are
also regularly seen/heard in the Scotch Broom to the east.
Good birding!
