Greetings all,

John English and I just returned from 6 days in the Kenai-Anchorage-Denali area of south central Alaska and 5 days in Nome. While we were disappointed with some of our misses in south-central (namely not finding Great Gray or Hawk Owls) we were very happy with some of our results up north. The three prizes for us were a Red-throated Pipit in Anvil Mountain, just outside Nome, a Spectacled Eider in amoung the Swans in Safety Sound, and three Bristle-thighed Curlew up near Coffee Dome. The male Bluethroat was breathtaking and we ended up with 115 species for the trip. 16 were lifers for me and 31 for John. Not a bad way to spend an early June!

That's it.

-Rolan
