Hiya Tweets-
I'm posting this for Don Norman.

Heron Information at Edmonds Marsh Needed
Don Norman has been hired to address the disturbance
issues at the old UNOCAL site (now owned by WashDOT to
be the new ferry terminal) where there will be
continued cleanup this summer that has been delayed
because of the heron nesting.
**Any information on the maximum number of herons you
have seen there would be helpful. **
Please send any info to don at
pugetsoundbird at gmail.com
There are at least 4 nests visible from the Marsh
side, and perhaps a few more not visible. A total
count of birds would help.
There will be good opportunities to improve the Marsh
with the mitigation that WashDOT will do, so please
get involved! Purple Martins are heavily using the
marsh for foraging and more work on the UNOCAL side
will have to address how to plant the creek, and
create more observation points without creating more
disturbance to this fairly quiet area.

P.S. Don also had a new yard bird, a Black Swift, fly
over his place in Richmond Beach on Sunday.
