Hi Tweets,

Larry and I were in the Ravenna neighborhood this afternoon and happened upon a BUSHTIT's nest hanging in a Western Red Cedar tree. It was the most unique and interesting kind of nest I've ever seen, truly as the National Geographic Society's "Birds of North America" describes, "an elaborate hanging structure". We could hear the babies cheeping away inside, and got to watch the parents coming to the nest and reaching in to feed the little ones. The sides of the nest kind of 'pulsed' and bulged with the movement of the birdies inside. Very neat!

I snapped a couple of pictures with my cellphone (the only camera we had with us). They're pretty grainy, but if anyone is interested I'd be happy to send you the best one. Also happy to try to describe how to find the nest if anyone wants to go see it.

Cheers,
