I will be in Seattle July 1-7 with a focus on birding the last three
days of the trip -- two days will probably have 12 hours of birding
involved to cover Washington's many habitats. I have recently
returned from Colorado and am looking to pick up some missed species
plus many additional western birds. I am very interested in
specialties like seabirds, Northwestern Crow and Tri-colored
Blackbird. I have listed my target birds below; it's quite large,
does anyone have suggestions on sites hosting many species? I'm
equally excited about taking in a brand-new landscape. Furthermore,
can anyone give advice for traveling back and forth across the state
in an efficient manner for birding? Though we will be staying in
Seattle, I am not opposed to traveling anywhere.
Incidentally, we are thinking of taking a ferry to Victoria earlier in
the week; is this a good time of year to see whales? Any advice on
ferry routes (are any better for birding) and can anyone point me to
Sky Larks in Victoria?
Thank you for any tips!
