I stopped by Steptoe Butte State Park Friday, June 22, at midday to
look for the celebrity sparrows. After about an hour, the
Clay-colored started singing in the previously described location,
the brushy path between the rd and the wheatfield, on the right just
past the picnic area at the base of the butte. It started out close
to the road, then sang from the shrubby tree at the far end of the
non-ag patch, then came back. There seemed to be two birds together.
I never got a good look at either.
I didn't find a black-throat near the top.

I circled Bassett Park in Washtucna a couple of times later that
afternoon, but didn't find any empid.

Having precise descriptions of where to find things is certainly
helpful. Thanks.
