Subject: [Tweeters] Owls at Interlaken?

Last fall I led a once a week after school program at Interlaken Park
(Capitol Hill - Seattle) . I too thought it should have at least
occasional, if not resident owls. I hooted for both Barred and Great Horned
once or twice most programs to no avail and tried again in the evening once
hooting in more of the park and still got no response and never saw
whitewash (droppings) or pellets. While I expect there are still owls that
pass through on occasion, I suspect that there were no resident owls last
fall. I hope I didn't scare away any Screech Owls. I expect the park will
be used by owls, either resident or temporarily in the future.

I will start the afternoon programs again this spring quarter and if there
are any owls using the park there is a fair chance that I will find them,
but I could easily miss a silent Screech.
